Description

This Pilea Duo brings together two charming personalities from the Pilea family: the iconic Pilea Peperomioides, also known as the pancake plant, and the graceful Pilea Glauca, with her silvery-green leaves and trailing habit. Together, they form a playful and stylish pair that fits beautifully into any interior — from urban jungle to minimalist design.

Peperomioides steals the show with her round, glossy leaves and compact growth, while Glauca offers a light, creeping presence. Place them together in a planter, hanging pot, or on a shelf, and you’ll instantly create a botanical contrast that radiates both calm and movement. Their differing shapes complement each other beautifully — a duo full of character.

Both plants are non-toxic to pets, making them a safe choice for families. They’re easy to care for, propagate well, and grow steadily. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned plant parent, this Pilea combo is a cheerful, low-maintenance addition to your collection.

Care tips

Both Peperomioides and Glauca prefer a bright spot without direct sunlight. A place near an east- or north-facing window is ideal. Too much sun can cause their leaves to shrivel, while too little light slows their growth. Rotate Peperomioides occasionally to keep her shape symmetrical, and give Glauca room to trail or crawl.

When it comes to watering, they fall into the moderate category. Water them weekly with a small amount and keep the soil lightly moist. Use a pot with drainage holes and let the top layer of soil dry slightly between waterings. In winter, you can water a bit less. Note: Glauca is slightly more sensitive to drying out than Peperomioides.

Both plants are easy to propagate. Peperomioides naturally produces baby plants at her base, while Glauca can be propagated by taking a stem cutting with roots. They don’t require high humidity, but occasional misting helps reduce dust and keeps their foliage fresh. Feed them once a month during spring and summer, and you’ll enjoy this duo for years to come.
