Description

The Monstera Deliciosa, also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, is a tropical classic that transforms any space into a lush green oasis. Her large, glossy leaves with signature splits and holes make her a true eye-catcher. As she grows, the holes become larger and more dramatic — a clever natural mechanism that helps with light filtration and water drainage in the wild.

Originally from the rainforests of Central and South America, she climbs trees using aerial roots. Indoors, she stays more modest, but with the right care, she can grow into an impressive houseplant reaching up to 2 meters tall.

Monstera is easy to care for and adapts well to various lighting conditions. She’s ideal for both beginner and experienced plant lovers. Note: she is mildly toxic to pets and small children.

Care tips

Monstera Deliciosa prefers a bright spot without direct sunlight. Water her weekly and keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid letting her roots sit in water. In spring and summer, you can feed her monthly with houseplant fertilizer to encourage growth.

Rotate her occasionally to ensure even growth, and remove yellow or damaged leaves to keep her healthy. As she grows taller, you can support her with a moss pole or trellis — climbing is in her nature!

Note: if she receives too little light, her leaves may stay smaller and develop fewer holes. So give her a place where she can truly shine!
