Care tips

Belize loves light, but not harsh sunrays. Give it a spot with plenty of indirect sunlight, such as near a window with sheer curtains. Too much direct sun can cause its variegated leaves to fade or even burn.

Watering requires a bit of care: check whether the top few centimeters of soil are dry before watering again. In winter, it’s less thirsty, while during the growing season (spring/summer) it appreciates a bit more hydration. Make sure excess water can drain well — this plant dislikes wet feet!

Occasional misting helps keep its leaves fresh and glossy. Feed it once a month during spring and summer. Repot every few years to give its roots a bit more space. Note: its milky sap is mildly toxic, so keep it out of reach of children and pets.
