The Calathea Lancifolia, also known as the Rattlesnake Plant, is a tropical beauty named after its striking leaf pattern. Its long, wavy leaves are light green with dark green ovals that resemble the markings of a rattlesnake. The underside of the leaf is royal purple, creating a stunning color contrast. Care tips

Ideally, place it a few meters from an east- or north-facing window with filtered daylight. It thrives at a steady temperature between 18–24°C and dislikes drafts or dry air.

Wat betreft water geven: deze Calathea valt onder de categorie veel water. Houd de potgrond licht vochtig, maar zorg ervoor dat de wortels niet in een laagje water staan. Geef bij voorkeur regenwater of gefilterd water, want ze is gevoelig voor kalk. In de zomer heeft ze meestal 2–3 keer per week water nodig, in de winter volstaat één keer. Let op hangende bladeren — dat is vaak een teken van dorst.

Lastly, humidity is crucial. Lancifolia craves a tropical atmosphere. Place it on a tray with pebbles and water, use a humidifier, or group it with other plants. Daily misting with lukewarm water also helps. Brown edges or curling leaves are signs the air is too dry. Give it the jungle vibes it deserves, and it will reward you with its lively leaf dance.
